We were sub-contracted by GMP, a consortium between OFM, ICSA and SETH of Portugal, to carry out capital dredging works in Port of Bejaia (Phase 1).
For this project, which lasted almost 2 years we had to mobilize our equipment from Malta to Algeria via sea transport. For this project we used a heavy grab dredger, 2 split barges, 1 coastal tugboat and 1 work boat. As part of the project, we also covered project management and surveying of the bays through our internal resources.
This was a project that our Company could cover through the vast experience in this field. The material dredged could only be handled with specialised equipment as it was highly compacted and odorous. High levels of safety standards were applied to safeguard the well-being of all the crew working on this project.
Works were finally surveyed and certified by the Algerian Port Authorities.
